jgregorsok This is another great High Llamas album that is destined to spend a lot of time on my turntable! I am a huge fan of Sean O'Hagan's music, and this album is a great example of how to broaden the sound of a band into new territories without losing the soul of what made the band great in the first place. My favorite tracks are Bade Amey and Sisters Friends, but the whole album is a wonderful ride. Thank you Sean O'Hagan for making such incredible music for all these years. Favorite track: Sisters Friends.

donaldchesterfieldjr Hey Panda arrived early. Love it! Couldn’t be happier with the new direction that Sean and the band took. Brilliant throughout. A very enjoyable, beautiful and sincere album with lots of soul. Long live the genius that is Sean O’Hagan.

about

Opened up by the delirious alchemy of contemporary pop music, Sean O’Hagan leaps back into life with High Llamas, with a set of killer tunes reflecting on dimensional levels how definitions change over time. Arranged by Sean and produced with mix collaborator Fryars to engage the eardrums in non-stop new possibilities, Hey Panda radiates optimism inspired by the joys and sorrows felt in former lifetimes and the diverse conundrums of today alike.

about

High Llamas London, UK

The High Llamas were formed in London in
1992 by Sean O’Hagan, John Fell and Marcus Holdaway. Rob Allum joined the group
in 1993 and Dominic Murcott in 1998.

The High Llamas’ music was a distinctly different sound in the alternative rock-ridden
90s, basing itself in the comparatively complex compositional zone of pop music of the
1950s, 60s and 70s.
